We do not allow any visitors to our homes. This policy is for the health and well-being of our Dogs & our Children. There are those who warn that, if a breeder will not allow you into their facility, they must be "hiding something." This warning would NOT be given if those who advocate such visits
actually raised dogs!
We have had to adopt this policy as a result of our experience as breeders and having raised a number of dogs. Our dogs are raised like family. They live with us, and our puppies are born in our home. They are socialized and loved and cared for to assure you of a puppy that is sound in mind and body. Having strangers in our facility could introduce disease, compromise puppies that are not old enough to reach immuno-competency (the age where a puppy can start to produce antibodies on its own) and upset our moms daily routine, and endanger to welfare of our children and us. Dogs thrive on routine and our activities are built around their care and well being. We will be happy to Text, Call, Message even Facetime , ETC and spend all the time necessary to answer every one of your questions. Our animals' health is our primary concern and we do all we can to give them the best quality care we can provide.
Tips on what to look for when determining if you have contacted or have been contacted by a scam artist concerning puppies.
A scammer claiming to be selling a puppy will often be using a picture which they have stole from a puppy sales website or someone's personal website such as this one. They do this by right clicking over the picture and clicking "save as" and save it to their computer. They then go to classified websites such as puppy find.com, kijiji.com or others and post that stolen picture as though they own that puppy and are trying to sell it. They of course do not have a puppy to sell and only want to take your money and you will never get a puppy in exchange for your money. The scammer will often have the puppy priced very low in order to make it more appealing. Here is a numbered list on things to look for if you come across something you think is suspicious.
Weather you buy a puppy from me or not, I encourage you to use these tips in finding your new puppy. This information is to help you not get scammed. I am happy to help you identify a scammer if you are unsure. First and foremost CALL a HUMAN don't just Text Talk, DO your Research. Stop whining when you get scammed becuase you did not research first and then expect the real breeder to somehow discount their real pup or feel bad for you . When you Did NOT do your research :)
This article was borrowed by another poster: USDA does NOT = Puppy Mill this is ASPCA & HSUS Propaganda USDA Licensed means We can Legally ship/deliver your puppy and I can legally breed exotic animals (Hedgehogs)
There is no such thing as a "puppy mill." "Puppy Mill" is not a legally defined term, it is a slang used by the animal rights community to denigrate any and all breeders--small or large, standard or substandard.
The phrase "puppy mill" has been promoted in the media by the animal "rights" movement, people who want to end all animal ownership. It is applied indiscriminately by these fanatics to anyone who breeds dogs. CEO of HSUS just stated: "A puppy mill is any breeder who takes any type of compensation for a pet."
So yes that would include Rescues!
Money exchanges hands so....
There are many types of breeders: Commercial, Pet, Hobby and show breeders to mention a few. Every one of these can be a large-scale breeder, every one of these can be a substandard breeder, Commercial, Hobby, and Show kennels can be subject to state and/or federal oversight. Substandard care can be found with all types of breeders even Shelters and Rescues. It is about the
standard of care that dogs receive.
Most Licensed breeders have state of the art kennels that meet USDA standards and the standards of the state. We are inspected at least twice a year, once by state and many times by USDA here in Kansas. You must meet or exceed standards of each. Passing laws intended to outlaw "puppy mills" will not solve any problem. Most breeders are already working to follow the laws. The only way to have any effect is to enforce the laws that are already on the books.
All the Hobby breeders in this country cannot produce enough puppies to meet the demands of the American market. BREEDERS are NOT responsible for the presence of dogs in shelters. Irresponsible dog & cat owners are the reason that there are too many pets in shelters.
Believe me, I am not saying there are not bad breeders. I know there is, but we just need to get them cleaned up! Not all of us are bad breeders!
There are some breeders who breed a tad under the AKC standard, but within a weight range that will still produce healthy dogs. In this case, these Chihuahuas "Teacups" ,Pugs called "Pocket Pugs". These are not terms recognized by any group, they can just be common terms that you have heard or seen. While these dogs may not fit AKC/APRI/ACA conformation, when bred ethically, as we
DO, they will be as healthy as a standard size. Any pet that is breed to be smaller than standard size for its breed parents still should be health tested and sound before ever breeding. We
DO NOT promote breeding runts or super tinys just for profit.
Even a wonderful breeder who breeds to stay within the AKC standards, will always have a few puppies every so often who are Smaller or Larger than expected. Even with careful breeding, God has the final say. In these cases, a breeder may refer to those smaller than planned dogs as "Imperials" "Teacups" or "Pocket Pet", or will chart the growth and state that they may be larger by saying above standard or husky.
We try to anticipate questions you might have about our pups and provide the answers here. If you need additional information send email to jnjpugsks@gmail.com
We are in the Heart of Kansas in Abilene & Salina. We are one and a half hours north of Wichita, and about two hours west of Topeka.
We are dedicated to raising the best puppies . This ensures that you, our valued customer, can welcome your puppy into your home as your new family member with a clear mind and joyful heart. We feed our adults the best food(No By-Products or Fillers etc), train them, and make sure they are healthy and well-adjusted before we even breed them. When the puppies are born, we offer your puppy the best start we know how to give them: keeping them with their litters until they are old enough to leave for their new homes, offering a comprehensive vaccination and de-worming schedule, feeding the best food available, and offering them all-important early puppy socialization. We have dedicated our whole lives to the pet industry. You can be assured that the puppy's for sale you purchase from us is loved, treasured and pre-spoiled before you even get your first snuggle!
Picking the perfect puppy is an important decision. Different breeds are suited to different lifestyles. Here are a few things to take into consideration: exercise needs, grooming needs, age of family members, and what activities you want to do with your puppy. For example, if you work out of the home, live in a city high-rise apartment or condo, perhaps you would prefer a dog with low exercise requirements. If you have small children, making sure that you bring a puppy home that is sturdy and well-adjusted will allow your children to enjoy their puppy into their maturity. Puppies can be brought into homes with children as long as they are introduced gradually and firm rules are placed on behavior that will be allowed -- for both the puppy and the other family members. Giving your new puppy its own crate will give it a safe place to go in case other members of the family are too rambunctious or it just needs to nap. We give the same advice to owners of multiple pets who are thinking about bringing home another puppy.
A deposit of half of the pups price, is required to hold a puppy of your choice until it is ready to go. If the puppy is picked up in person, the remainder can be paid in cash at the time of pick up. If the puppy is being delivered by the breeder. Once deposit is received that puppy is 100% yours and we will in no way advertise or make available to anyone. This is a non-refundable deposit. If something were to happen to your pup in our care you will receive your deposit in full or you can choose to transfer your deposit to a different pup.
Yes, The pick up times are everyday but Sunday from 9 am to 5:45 pm on weekdays or 9 to 5 on saturdays, We ask that you call or email ahead of time to ensure we are not in the middle of family or shop projects etc. We do ask that if you are picking up your pup that you come prepared with a crate, collar & leash. We do have these items if you like but we must charge for them.

Dogs thrive on routine and our activities are built around their care and wellbeing. We will be happy to let you meet any Pups over 8 weeks old that have had vaccinations (Although they cannot go home until 8 weeks) for sale. We will meet at a local pet shop or vet office Our animals' health is our primary concern and we do all we can to give them the best quality care we can provide.
Most of our dogs have AKC & ACA registries. Most generally puppies are sold on Limited Registration status. Full Registration is open to discussion but it must be it must be brought to my attention. Limited dogs can still be entered into trials, agility etc.
Many of our dogs are from show lines and most of our dogs have champion bloodlines. Our puppies are all good representatives of their breed, being sound in mind and body. We do not, however, sell our puppies as show prospects, as it takes a long time and a lot of training to guarantee a show dog. Any dog with the proper registry can be shown in the breed ring as long as it does not have any disqualifying faults, but dogs must conform to the parent club's breed standard. Few puppies born (even to show dogs!) achieve this. If you would like to show your puppy in obedience, agility, or therapy, they are certainly suited to this purpose. Some breeds are naturally more gifted in these areas, but with training and patience, showing your dog in "team sports" (those with the owner and dog working together) can be fun and rewarding for both of you. We strongly urge encourage you and your puppy to participate in Puppy classes. Please keep us informed of your successes! We love to hear about your achievements.
Yes & Yes, We have a contract Prepared for each puppy that we sell, when deposit is paid on the pup of your choice you will receive your contract. We Guarantee our pups for one year against any gentic defects. There is much more detail in the contract. Which a basic copy can be read on the Puppy Contract tab.
We accept Cash, Check for deposits as long as they are received fourteen days before the pup is to go home. Pay pal for deposits and final payment as long as the final payment is also 14 days before pup goes home. We also accept Visa, MasterCard & Discover.
Yes. Just as there are honest people out there, there are a few dishonest people who have no intentions of ever paying the full balance after receiving their puppy regardless of the outcome.
We also have to pay for transportation etc before the pup goes to their new home. All puppy's that are flying must be paid 14 days prior to leaving. If being delivered in person by me can be paid upon arrival but must be paid in cash, as i have no way to accept cards on the road.
We require you to take your puppy to the vet within three (3) business days of receiving your puppy. At this visit you will have the opportunity to get your own vet's check-up as well as review the vaccinations your puppy has already received and the ones it will need in the future. In order for our guarantees to be valid, you MUST take your puppy to your vet within three (3) business days of purchase.
The puppies are eating Royal Canin, Lifes Abundance, Pure Lux and Chicken soup for the soul and Fromm. It is a high quality food with No By-Products, Corn or Soy filler & no dyes or colors. I do recommend you continue using it if it is available to you. If there is not a dealer located within a reasonable distance please ask me for suggestions on other brands and options that might be available to you. We do Free feed our pups and adults (food available at all times) We do not want any food aggression and helps control any weight issues from beginning.
We microchip all puppies we sell. This chip is the size of a grain of rice and contains a unique 13 digit number that will be assigned to your pet. The chip is painlessly inserted under the skin between the shoulder blades (where there are few pain sensors). It cannot be felt by touch, and it can never be removed or lost (like a collar) and will always be able to be traced back to you. You will receive an application that will register the chip in your name with AKC Reunite registry. You will be able to update your information if you should move or any of your information changes. Most veterinarians and all shelters automatically scan for this type of identification. No animals are euthanized or placed for adoption by shelters if a microchip is detected, and emergency veterinary care is given while the owners are traced and notified. A microchipped animal will also never be accepted by a research facility without a signed statement by the owner of record. We are often asked if there are any side effects to microchipping. There is a study on the Internet that reports a very low incidence of tumors at the injection site. We feel that the benefits of microchipping FAR outweigh any risks that may (or may not) be associated with the procedure. All of our own dogs are also microchipped.
Many small breeds of dogs can be trained to use a litter box rather than go outside to go potty. Many residents of apartments and high-rises enjoy the comfort and ease of not having to take their puppy to the assigned pet exercise areas (often quite a long way from their residence) and also those who work can leave their puppy with the confidence that the little one will be able to relieve themselves when necessary without improper "messes" in inappropriate places.
There are a lot of different schools of thought regarding where your puppy should sleep. We strongly encourage you to provide a crate for your puppy to sleep in. By letting your puppy sleep in a crate, it allows your puppy to have a safe and private place for them, and you will have the knowledge that the puppy cannot roam or chew on dangerous or expensive items through the night. Make sure that your puppy has plenty of food, fresh water and exercise. His crate will soon become his own bed, and he will enjoy sleeping there when tired, even when the door is not shut. If you want your puppy to sleep in your bed, that is entirely up to you and whoever may already share your bed. There is no "right or wrong" answer however, as stated above, we do recommend that your puppy sleep in its own bed at least until they are housetrained and past the teething stage so that they do not get into trouble while they are unsupervised.
When puppies are born, they are blind and deaf. Their eyes and ears do not open until they are almost two weeks old, depending on the breed. That does not mean, however, that they are not taking in information at a rapid rate. Handling puppies from birth gives them the edge to handle training, stress, and new surroundings as they mature. Many professional dog training programs (including the Seeing Eye program and the Schutzhund program) have found that puppies that have been heavily socialized from birth are more easily trained, and retain information for longer periods. The research provided shows that approximately 35% of a dog's potential is genetic, and 65% is environmental. We spend the time necessary to give your puppy the background to be all it can be.
Puppies, with their own clean beds, should not require frequent bathing. If you puppy should develop a "doggy" odor, inspect its bedding first. If it should have had an accident, wash the bedding and replace with clean blankets or towels, or whatever you are using for absorbent bedding. If the odor persists, inspect their ears to make sure there is not an infection, their teeth to make sure that food particles have not gotten lodged there, and also to make sure that their skin is clean. If you should discover ear or eye problems, take your puppy to your vet for medication to clear up the problem. If your puppy rolls or steps in something gross and just generally needs to have a wash, use a mild dog shampoo easily obtained from your vet or any pet store. Make sure you rinse them thoroughly after their bath and dry them completely with a towel or blow drier (set on low) before allowing them to go outside to exercise. Do not allow your puppy to become chilled by playing outside when still damp. Puppies should not normally need to be bathed more than once every month or two at the most.
You are welcome to bring your pup back at any time. We do not buy back any pups or dogs & we will not attempt to resell your pet in any way. Once we have a full vet exam then they will be put for adoption by us and found a suitable home. We will at no time ever put them in a shelter and ask that you do not do that either. Our adoption fees if any will only be to ciover what may have not been done and needs to be done. Dont ever hesitate to ask us.
